Private Members Club
No Bookings...No Tee Times....Just come & Play....
The Club was founded in 1909 when a nine-hole course was laid out on land rented from the city council and the lord of the manor, J. Atkin Waller of Pen Park. The Club became so popular that it was extended to eighteen holes in 1912 and a clubhouse built. The Club's first professional, E. Crook, was engaged in 1911. It was not, however until 1979 that the Club was able to purchase the land on which the course sits.
Centenary

FGC Centenary 2009 Filton Golf Club celebrates its Centenary in 2009 and is planning to mark the occasion with a series of celebrations throughout the year, the highlight of which will undoubtebly be hosting the Gloucestershire County Championship at the end of May, for which the first time since 1914. However there will be a wealth of special events for club members and visiting golfers to enjoy during the year.

No Joining Fees 2008
Filton's continued success has generated a new membership offer in the lead up to the centenary by removing the joining fee for 2008. Course Updates
Winter rules now in place.
(R&A) announcement to permit a committee to permit the use of distance measuring devices by local rule has now been passed at Filton. The use of "Skycaddies" "Bushnell" and other GPS type Products are now allowed.
