Windmill Driving Range

Filton Golf Club are proud to announce an affiliation with Windmill Driving Range which gives all Filton members free Silver Membership which entitles them to 10% off all range balls throughout the year.

Windmill driving range uses the latest technology in Power Tee's, several bays have rear mirrors for the more serious golfer and you and can enjoy practicing with pure 100% balls.

 

• Winter Matts

• Last year towards the end of the winter we asked people to carry mats with them to use on the fairway. This was in an attempt to reduce the number of divots that are taken, as despite being replaced and stamped in the birds will take them out but also there will be no growth or bedding in due to the cold weather limiting growth.
• We ask that people to the same again this winter, as from now, so that we get into the habit well before the cold really sets in as it is predicted to do.
• I know it is a bit of a pain, but experience of mat use at other courses has shown that there is a considerable improvement in the playing conditions of the fairways the following year if divots are minimised over the winter.
• 
  Golf is the only sport where the participants actively look after their playing area (repairing pitch marks, replacing divots etc.). We are asking you to go that little bit further in order to ensure the quality of golf next year.
• 
  Mats are available in the Pro. Shop and should be returned after each round for use by others.

FGC Greens

A pitch mark only takes a few seconds to fix correctly however, a pitch mark repaired incorrectly takes over 3 weeks to heal. Correct repair will help protect the grass root system and benefit all members and visitors to the course.
