Dress Code

Filton is a modern golf club and we consider that appropriate behaviour both in the clubhouse and on the golf course is far more important than dictating how an individual should be dressed.

We do recognise that opinions on this matter are very divided, so as a guideline for your visit to Filton please note that any smart casual clothing, including denim, is acceptable in the clubhouse although we do ask gentlemen to remove baseball caps.

Please ensure mobile phones are switched to silent or vibrate mode and are only used in the lobby and for emergencies only on the course.

Spikes (metal or Soft) are not permitted in the bar areas. Clean trainers and modern pimpled golf shoes in the clubhouse are perfectly acceptable.

On the golf course, we do accept that fashion changes very quickly and our current guideline is simply that any recognised golfing apparel that can be purchased from a professional golf retail outlet is acceptable. Gentlemen’s shirts these days are designed to be worn in or outside the waistband and matching socks of any variety is fine. Golf shorts should be tailored and cargo shorts are, as yet, not deemed “golfing apparel”.
