Great News for the Club.
It has been an amazing year for Filton Golf Club’s Mitch Waite as he continues his remarkable rise through the amateur ranks with his selection for the England team as one of only three players that will compete for the Eisenhower Trophy in the World Amateur Team Championship at Ireland’s Carton House, near Dublin, next week. (Mitch becomes the first Gloucestershire player to appear in the Eisenhower Trophy since Gary Wolstenholme in 1998)
Mitch has had a busy summer, being selected for the full England squad earlier this year, then being selected for the Great Britain and Ireland team that played Europe in Finland recently, finishing runner-up in the European Amateur, in Holland, in June, taking second place in May’s Lytham Trophy. This after winning the Hampshire Salver in April and claiming the Hampshire Hog at North Hants, and having the best 72-hole aggregate.
We are very proud of Mitch who worked his way up through the clubs Junior system to the dizzy heights of representing his country.
